We had a family movie Saturday night this past weekend. We watched Overboard, and it is still very funny, although I didn’t remember that there was so much cursing. (My kids have heard it before, and many times from me, so oh well…)
At almost the end, after Goldie Hawn as rich-bitch Joanna has had a stint with amnesia and hard times and four misbehaved boys, when she is back aboard her boat and back in her glittery 80′s clothes but with a softer updo (an overused movie clue that a character has undergone a transformation and the stick up the tuchas has been removed, sometimes seen as hair down (see Big and, for a more recent example, The Proposal)), she offers a tray of food to her mother and husband. They are appalled, crying out “we have servants for that.”
Bulldog piped up at that moment. “She cares about people now,” said the six-and-three-quarter year old. I melted. I almost cried. About Overboard, I almost cried.

Isn’t it wonderful when you know you’ve done something right with your kids? Mazel tov! And thanks for sharing!!
Me and my wife organize movie evenings on Sunday. We always try to chose some teen movie or a cartoon. It’s a great way to hang out with your kids
